RVH Courses

Our programme of Monday afternoon courses in autumn and spring is for adults who have a general interest or wish to extend their knowledge in various areas, for example:

Art history and artistic techniques

Social history in its widest sense (our current course is ‘900 years of British Agriculture’)

Important international movements in art and history

History of science and medicine

You will find a welcoming group of people interested in learning about a topic in some detail over several weeks in the company of our experienced tutors. The presentations are friendly and interactive, lasting up to two hours, and are structured to allow for socialising with other ‘students’. Our courses run typically for five or ten weeks.

In the late spring and early summer, we arrange two or three group visits to historic houses, art exhibitions and other places of cultural interest.

If you would like to join our email list to receive our programme as it is released, please contact sally@newbarns.org.uk

You will find details of how to book on each course page.

I wasn’t sure if I would find ‘900 years of British Agriculture’ interesting for ten weeks, but now I don’t want it to finish…
