– Transportation and Emigrtaion to Australia 1780-1880 –
Malcolm Deacon is Chair of Milton Malsor History Society and will talk to us about this one hundred year period of people movement to Australia from Great Britain. The contrasting stories of 18th century Mary Bryant and 19th century Caroline Chisolm, vividly illustrate the era when transportation gave way to emigration following the Irish potato famine and the discovery of gold in Australia.
